Our Story

Nine years, three chapters, one date.

A shared table

A packed café on Rue de Seine. One free table, two strangers too polite to take it. Joséphine got the last espresso. Raphaël let her have it, then stayed three hours.

The first summer

A borrowed car and a tent that refused to stay up. They drove south with no real plan. Somewhere past Arles, home stopped being a place.

The question

The cliffs at Étretat, low tide, very cold hands, one small box. She said yes before he finished the sentence.

The next chapter is why you're reading this.

The Day

Saturday, in order.

3:00PM

The Ceremony

Under the plane trees in the upper garden. Come a little early. The bells ring at three, sharp.

5:00PM

Cocktail Hour

Champagne and small Provençal plates on the south terrace. The view does most of the entertaining.

7:30PM

Dinner

One long table in the orangerie, by candlelight. There will be toasts. You may want to prepare yours.

10:00PM

Dancing

The doors open, the music turns up. We dance until the château asks us to stop. It won't.

A shuttle leaves Avignon TGV at 1:30 PM. Ask for seats in your RSVP.

Venue & Direction

Château de
Martinay.

Gordes, Provence, France

An eighteenth-century estate in the hills of the Luberon, all plane trees and dry-stone walls. There is a terrace that faces the sunset, and past it, the lavender. We found the place three summers ago and never really left.

Elegant, in quiet colours: black, ivory, sand, stone. Black tie is welcome but not required. The ceremony is on grass, so consider your heels warned.
